Handmade, not printed
Most personalised mugs are factory mugs with a printed design. These are different: each mug is thrown in stoneware, the lettering is painted on by hand, and a clear glaze goes over the top before the final firing, so the design sits under the glaze instead of on top of it.
They are dishwasher and microwave safe.

How it works
1. Get in touch
Fill in the form with what you have in mind, roughly how many, and when you need it.
2. Sketch and quote
You get a sketch, a price and a timeline, usually within a week. See pages from Faith’s sketchbook
3. Deposit
A 50% deposit books your place in the making queue.
4. Making
Throwing, drying and two kiln firings take 6 to 10 weeks, with photos along the way.
5. Delivery
Pay the balance, then collect from the studio or have it carefully packed and couriered anywhere in South Africa.
Questions
How much does a personalised mug cost?
From R450 a mug, depending on its size and how much painting it needs. Larger orders are priced per mug. You get a price with your sketch before paying anything.
How long does it take?
Usually 6 to 10 weeks, because every mug is thrown, dried and fired twice. If you need them by a date, say so in your enquiry and Faith will tell you straight away whether it’s possible.
Can I use my own drawing or handwriting?
Yes. Send a photo with your enquiry and Faith will paint it onto the mug as closely as she can.
Do you deliver outside Cape Town?
Yes, by courier anywhere in South Africa, or you can collect from the studio in Cape Town.
