Plates, bowls and mugs in your colours

Start from one of the studio’s shapes and glazes, or bring a reference: a colour from your menu, a plate you love, the feel you want on the table. Faith will suggest sizes and glazes that suit how you serve.

Quantities, lead times and replacements

Orders are made in batches, so allow 6 to 10 weeks from approving the design.

It’s worth ordering a few spares of each piece. Replacements can be made later in the same glaze, though handmade glazes always vary a little from batch to batch.

Care in a busy kitchen

The studio’s tableware is dishwasher and microwave safe. Tell Faith how your kitchen works (commercial dishwashers, stacking, heat lamps) and she will tell you honestly what will and won’t suit.

Questions

Is handmade crockery practical for a restaurant?

Stoneware is dense and hard-wearing, and the studio’s tableware is dishwasher and microwave safe. Chips can still happen in a busy kitchen, which is why a few spares are a good idea.

How many pieces can you make?

Anything from a set for a small café to a full restaurant. Tell Faith what you need and when, and she will plan batches and a timeline around it.

Can you match our branding?

Yes: your colours, your name or logo painted on, or a shape that suits a signature dish.

Do you supply restaurants outside Cape Town?

Yes. Orders are packed carefully and couriered anywhere in South Africa.
